This lemon tahini dressing is the best salad dressing ever! It’s incredibly creamy, packed with flavor, oil-free, vegan, and super healthy. And it comes together in only 5 minutes!
Why This Recipe Works
This lemon tahini dressing has become a staple in our kitchen over the last years. It’s super creamy and I absolutely love it’s nutty and seedy taste.
And it’s super healthy at the same time! Tahini is a great source of protein and iron. Most of you will probably know it because it’s a key ingredient for hummus. But it’s also perfect for salad dressings and other dips, like Baba Ganoush.
For those of you who haven’t heard of tahini yet, it’s basically just sesame seeds that are toasted and ground into a paste or butter. As sesame seeds contain natural oils, you don’t have to add any additional oil to this dressing.
It goes perfectly with a big green salad, tomatoes, and cucumber. Besides, it’s also great with roasted vegetables, especially broccoli and cauliflower.
The recipe couldn’t be any easier! You need only four ingredients, not including water, salt, and pepper. All you have to do is place all ingredients in a small bowl and whisk well.
I love that this dressing comes together in only 5 minutes and you can store it in the fridge for days. So you’ve got a delicious salad in no time.
What Goes Into This Recipe:

How to Make This Recipe
Juice the lemon. Then, place all ingredients in a small bowl and stir until combined.
Recipe Notes
- Make sure the tahini you are using is creamy and not clumpy. Always stir the jar of tahini well with a spoon when opening it. This way it will stay super creamy.
- If it’s clumpy, use warm water for the dressing. This helps to make it creamy.
- For more flavor, you could add a finely chopped clove of garlic to the dressing. Or you could add a bit of Dijon mustard and maple syrup.
- Leave out the water for a thicker version, which you can serve with crackers.
