If you are looking for a delicious dip then you should definitely try this vegan dip with dairy-free cream cheese and dates. It’s super creamy, perfectly seasoned with curry and garlic, and just so good!
Why This Recipe Works
I’ve made this vegan dip so many times and it’s always a real winner. Make it for your next party, BBQ, or picnic and I’m sure it will be gone super fast. I’ve had so many people asking for the recipe.
I just love the combination of the sweet dates, the cream cheese, and the oriental curry. Usually I’m a big fan of hummus, but this vegan cream cheese dip is great if you feel like having something else for a change.
It tastes just perfect with roasted bread, crackers, or vegetable sticks. And I don’t think anyone would think that the dip is completely dairy-free and 100 percent vegan.
Besides, the recipe couldn’t be any easier and you need only 5 minutes for the preparation. All you need is a handful of ingredients and a food processor or blender that does all the work for you.
What Goes Into This Recipe:
- Dates – I’ve used pitted dates to save time.
- Plant-Based Cream Cheese – my favorite is vegan almond-based cream cheese.
- Plant-Based Sour Cream – I’ve used soy-based vegan sour cream.
- Curry – mild curry powder.
- Cumin – you need ground cumin.
- Garlic – I used a medium-sized clove of garlic.
How To Make This Recipe
Step 1: Place the pitted dates and the clove of garlic in a food processor or blender. Process until roughly chopped.
Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients and process until well combined. Make sure to leave some texture!
Recipe Notes:
- The dip tastes great with roasted bread (either in the oven or in the toaster) or with crackers. I also think it’s great with vegetable sticks. In the summer it also makes a great dip for BBQs or picnics.
- If you’d like to add a bit of spiciness, season it with red pepper flakes to your personal liking.
- Or you could add some paprika powder together with the curry powder and the cumin.
- I like to sprinkle the dip with some freshly chopped parsley for even more flavor.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How Long Does this Dip Last?
Stored in an airtight container, the dip can be kept in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
Can You Freeze This Dip?
No, I do not recommend freezing this dip as this changes the consistency and it is no longer as nice and creamy.
