These apple strudel puff pastry waffles make such a great dessert! They’re vegan, extremely delicious, and incredibly easy to make! The easiest waffle recipe ever!!
I’ve always liked apple strudel and I just looooove waffles, so last weekend I made the easiest waffle recipe ever: Vegan apple strudel puff pastry waffles!
All you need is puff pastry, cinnamon, apples, and a little bit of agave! It’s actually one of the easiest recipes I’ve ever posted! If not THE easiest recipe ever!
They come together in about 8 minutes, which is totally crazy for waffles!! Maybe you now wonder: “Is puff pastry vegan”? Fortunately, there are actually a lot of puff pastry brands that are vegan. Most refrigerated uncooked puff pastry sheets only contain flour, margarine, salt, water, and yeast, so they are suitable for vegans. However, this can depend on where you live and what grocery store you’re at, so make sure to check the ingredient list. Peta got a list of things that are “accidentally” vegan, which might help you a little bit with that.
Puff Pastry Waffles or Puffles?
So now back to these super easy vegan apple cinnamon waffles! I actually thought about calling them “puffles”, like puff pastry waffles and I thought this was super creative!! So being all proud of myself for coming up with such a genius keyword, I tipped in puffles in the Google keyword planner (which allows you to pick good keywords for your recipes, so people can actually find them when using Google) and I got tons of results. I already got pretty excited, but then I then noticed that puffles are actually “small furry pets” in a game called Club Penguin Island. Haha! So much for that!
As I already said, the recipe for these vegan stuffed waffles really couldn’t be easier. The best thing is that you don’t even have to make a batter! I unrolled the puff pastry and cut it into three 5×10-inch rectangles, which worked perfectly for my waffle maker. As they’re all different in size, the best thing is maybe to measure the cooking surface of your waffle maker before you get started. Then just cut each piece of pastry to the same width of your waffle maker but double the length of it.
Then cut an apple into thin slices and put them on one half of the pastry rectangle. If you want you can also add some raisins to make the apple strudel more authentic. I left them out because I don’t like them too much. Sprinkle the apples with some cinnamon and agave. Fold the other half of each piece of pastry over and seal the edges.
Then heat the waffle maker and lightly grease it with some oil, for example coconut oil. Cook until golden brown. This will probably take about 5 minutes depending on your waffle maker.
That’s it! I told you it was super easy, didn’t I? We enjoyed these easy apple waffles (or rather apple puffles) with some blueberries, vegan vanilla ice cream, and plums. It was soooo good!
We’ve also made one batch with bananas, chocolate, and peanut butter and they were awesome as well!! My boyfriend, Flo, told me he’d love me even more if I made him these waffles every day. Haha! He even came up with a genius video on Youtube that is called “6 Unique Meals Using a Waffle Maker“. These guys make a falafel burger in a waffle maker! How crazy is that?! Can’t wait to give it a try though!
I hope you guys like these super quick vegan apple strudel puff pastry waffles as much as we did!
As always, I love hearing from you!!
Have a great week! xx

Haa, you also use the same “Kartoffelschäler” like my grandmom used to have in her kitchen! Even though I much prefer a chef’s knife, this thing always brings good memories! :-)
Plus waffles are awesome, Sina!
