I’ve had so many people asking me how I can be vegan and eat chocolate at the same time. Well, dark chocolate, the “real thing” so to say, doesn’t contain any dairy, and I’m so happy about that!! It’s not only super delicious, but also 100 % vegan.
We’ve got something for everyone:
- vegan chocolate donuts
- chocolate ice cream
- different vegan chocolate cakes
- chocolate parfaits and puddings
- vegan chocolate muffins
- chocolate truffles
- vegan chocolate cookies
- chocolate breakfast recipes
Is chocolate vegan? And what kind of chocolate can vegans eat?
I’ve heard this question so many times already. Many people assume that chocolate is a dairy product and is, thus, not vegan. However, chocolate itself is made from roasted and ground cacao seeds and is, therefore, vegan.
But that doesn’t mean that chocolate is always vegan. During the process of making chocolate, many additives are added like sugar and dairy products. So you should always look for a chocolate with higher chocolate content and no or few additives.
Dark chocolate is in many cases vegan, but always make sure to read the ingredient list. Cacao powder is also in most cases vegan.
Besides, there are many vegan chocolate brands that even produce “milk chocolate” with plant-based milk alternatives or white chocolate. Keep an eye out for them when you visit your local health food store.
Okay, so now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s get started with the drooling!! I’m sure you will love these vegan chocolate recipes as much as we do!
